What is a second-hand stainless steel heat exchanger?

A second-hand stainless steel heat exchanger is equipment designed to exchange heat between two fluids, where the cooler fluid absorbs heat from the hotter one. This exchange is conditioned by the type of exchanger (usually made of stainless steel), which can be shell and tube, plate, or double tube.

The most common are shell and tube exchangers, consisting of a cylindrical shell with a bundle of tubes inside. One fluid circulates through the shell and the other through the tubes. The heat exchange depends on the surface of the tubes and whether the fluids flow in the same direction or countercurrent, and it occurs on the surface of the tubes.
