What is a second-hand stainless steel leaf filter?
Second-hand stainless steel leaf filters are vertical filters with a group of vertical tubes inside the cylindrical shell. These tubes are covered by a filtering medium.
The crude enters through the bottom of the filter, circulating to the top head through the tubes. The crude's impurities remain around the tubes, forming what we call cake, and only the filtered crude reaches the top head. When the pressure inside the filter increases too much due to the large amount of cake that increases the liquid's resistance to flow through the tubes, a cleaning process must be carried out.
In this cleaning process, the fluid supply is closed, and the filter pressure is lowered. The fluid returns, circulating from the inside to the outside of the tubes, releasing the cake to the conical bottom.
Finally, the cake will be discharged when desired, depending on the amount of cake obtained per filtration cycle.
